Foot shape and plantar pressure tell different stories
Why 3D foot scanning and gait assessment can complement each other.

Geometry describes shape
A 3D foot scan records the surface and dimensions of the foot. F20 supports full-foot measurement, left-right comparison and STL output. These outputs can contribute to fitting and design workflows when the receiving tools support the format and measurement definitions.
Pressure describes contact
OneScan records plantar pressure and gait observations on its sensing platform. Pressure distribution and timing give a different view from a 3D model. They should not be inferred from a photograph or a shape model alone. The assessment protocol and interpretation remain important.
Bring the outputs together thoughtfully
A practitioner may use both types of information when evaluating footwear or orthotic requirements. Confirm how reports and models will be transferred to the next step, and test compatibility before committing to a workflow. Neither scan output replaces a professional fitting, clinical examination or the judgement needed for individual care.
